California
Two weeks ago I got on a plane for the first time. Before my trip was completely over I went through three lay overs, five take offs, and five landings. One of those landings was not very successful. I did not take on this adventure alone. My companion was my sister's husband. We were going to California to meet up with my sister for the weekend while she was on a business trip. We left St. Louis at 6 a.m. on a Friday and were headed for Dallas, Texas. The airport in Texas was amazing. There were so many shops and busy people running everywhere. Next we found ourselves on the way to our vacations spot...CALIFORNIA. We were going to Orange County. I did not get to see that much of that airport but what I did get to see looked very ritzy. My sister picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel, while she went back to work for a few hours. So Toby, my brother in-law, and I began to wander around the Hyat and then we headed for the beach. The waves were the largest waves I have ever seen. As we got closer to the pier we saw tents and heard and announcer and realized that there was a surfing competition going on. We spent the night eating with my sister's work friends and walking up and down the main strip of shops. Saturday we went to HOLLYWOOD. It was pretty neat. The streets were filled with people dressed up as famous people. The Michael Jackson look alike was creepy good. I also saw an Edward Cullen there!!! So sweet! After Hollywood we went and drove through Beverly Hills. It was a very pretty place. The shops around it were so nice looking. Sunday we woke up bright and early to head to Sea World. It was amazing. Shamu is so huge!! After seeing the animals at Sea World we headed for Downtown Disney. It was a fun place too. We went so I could pick up some cool souveniers for my sister and boyfriend. I do have to admite I got them some good stuff. Finally on Monday at 6 a.m. again it was time to head home. Well actually we were headed for Houston, Texas. After Housten we went to Chicago. In Chicago I experienced my fisrt delay. It sucked...but finally around 11 a.m. I was in my own bed. I don't do many adventurous things like that but i'm glad I went. It was an experience I will never forget.
